mSal-Ez is a non-invasive test developed for screening, early detection, and longitudinal surveillance of oral pre-cancer and cancer.
The assay is based on two MSMF-developed salivary biomarkers (S100A7 and S100P). As a non-invasive medium, saliva enables risk assessment without the discomfort or low compliance associated with biopsy-based approaches and supports repeat testing during follow-up.
Clinical validation across 350+ samples has demonstrated strong diagnostic performance for OPMDs, high-grade dysplasia, and oral cancer. Previous studies conducted showed 87% sensitivity & 92% specificity in distinguishing OSCC/OPMDs from benign oral conditions, and 96% sensitivity & 92% specificity in identifying OPMDs using saliva samples. The assay is currently being evaluated in multi-centric studies and developed for point-of-care deployment.
