His research integrates multi-omics with cellular and molecular approaches to uncover mechanisms driving tumor progression and poor treatment response, with the goal of identifying clinically actionable targets.<\/p><p>Dr. Ghorai obtained his Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of Kalyani, where his work investigated the cellular role of PARP-1 in DNA damage response, repair, and apoptosis following radiation exposure. His doctoral research specifically compared high-linear energy transfer (LET) radiation (carbon-ion\/charged-particle therapy) with low-LET gamma radiation in cancer cell lines.<\/p><p>Before joining MSCTR, he completed more than 6 years of postdoctoral training at leading research institutes in India. He began at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR-Mumbai), where he explored the role of SIRT4 in nuclear DNA damage responses and investigated PARP-1 as a regulator of cellular energy homeostasis. He subsequently transitioned to cancer biology at the Advanced Centre for Treatment Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC-TMC). At ACTREC, his research focused extensively on glioblastoma, elucidating mechanisms of radio-resistance and tumor recurrence using both\u00a0<i>in vitro<\/i>\u00a0systems and orthotopic GBM mouse models. He also contributed to studies on metabolic adaptations in drug-resistant acute myeloid leukemia (AML).<\/p><p>Dr. Ghorai has authored multiple publications in high-impact journals as both first and co-author. He is a recipient of the prestigious National Postdoctoral Fellowship (NPDF) from SERB, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, as well as the ACTREC Postdoctoral Fellowship award. In addition to his research contributions, he actively serves the scientific community as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed international journals. Dr. Ghorai is also an Editorial Board Member of Discover Oncology (Springer Nature) and a life member of the Indian Society of Neuro-Oncology (ISNO).<\/p><\/p>\n                        \n
