Patients receiving treatment at MSMC come from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Through our philanthropy wing MSCOP, we work closely with doctors and social workers at the hospital to identify patients facing financial difficulties in managing their treatment expenses. Our team carefully assesses each patient’s financial situation and extends suitable financial aid and treatment discounts, ensuring uninterrupted access to timely medical care.
MSCOP coordinates drug support and discounts to patients who are unable to afford high-cost medicines during their treatment and follow-up care. Drugs constitute a major part of the high cost of oncology treatment. Drug discounts is a huge relief to patients on long term supportive care.
Our dedicated staff offers psychosocial support and counselling to patients and their caregivers, helping them cope with the emotional and mental challenges associated with treatment. We also provide a safe and compassionate environment where caregivers can openly share their experiences, emotions, and the difficulties of supporting loved ones through illness.
To bring joy and positivity to children undergoing treatment, our team organizes engaging activities in the paediatric oncology ward. With the support of staff volunteers, we celebrate festivals, conduct recreational activities, and distribute small gifts to uplift the spirits of hospitalized children. These initiatives encourage social interaction, create meaningful moments of happiness, and offer children a refreshing break from the challenges of their treatment journey.
